First time here. Took a party of 9 and it was amazing. Started with the homemade onion rings and bread bites. Waitress was outstanding with some great suggestions for pizza. The pizza was the best we have had in a long time. Very reasonable priced and way above average service. Do yourself a favor and visit soon.

We visited The Leaning Tower of Pizza tonight and my daughters and I were impressed with how comfortable and relaxed we were at Leaning Tower. This restaurant has been located in Ankeny since the 1979's and definitely has the nostalgic feels. My daughters ordered mini cheese pizzas from the kids menu, and I ordered the Hot Ham and Cheese sandwich with onion rings. The food tasted great, and the prices were reasonable.

We ordered takeout through their online interface since we needed something quick to eat while we were driving home from DSM to Ames with our two sleeping kiddos. We ordered a small Harrington and Bus Stop as well as a half order of the onion rings (with the house dressing). Our order was ready basically exactly at the time we were quoted, and it was all hot and fresh; it was close to the end of the night, but the staff was still kind and smiling. We weren't eating in, but the warm and cozy atmosphere made us wish we were! The onion rings were fantastic, crunchy outside and perfectly cooked sweet onion in the middle, and the breading didn't fall off completely while eating them. Plus the house dressing was PERFECT, so glad we got it on the side. The pizzas were both delicious, Bus Stop was full of peppers and a bit spicy, and Harrington was meaty and mellow. The crust was just perfect, both pizzas loaded with toppings but somehow the crust got neither soggy nor greasy. Great cracker-crispy thin-crust with just a little char that you only get from more traditionally cooked pizzas. It's not often that you don't feel heavy and a little gross after eating pizza and onion rings, but this really hit the spot. We felt so refreshed, and I'm sure that's a testament to the quality ingredients and cooking.

We have eaten at Leaning Tower for years, since we moved here almost 30 years ago. Tonight the owner showed us what customer service truly is. One of the members of my family started not feeling well so we figured we would just have them change our order to go. They stepped right in and took the best care of us. We couldn’t have asked for more caring and compassionate people. If you have never been here you shouldn’t even give it a second thought. Come eat some of the best pizza in Ankeny and be truly taken care of. Thank you Leaning Tower. You are truly amazing!

Only 2nd time here but we'll be regulars from now on. Probably the best pizza I've ever had & the Cheese Bread was really good too. Waitress tonight was awsome. Highly recommend this place

Great food in a great community! Had the piper pizza and the onion rings, both were excellent. The price was very reasonable and our server was very attentive and on their game! Will be happy to go back again soon!

Leaning Tower Pizza in Uptown, Ankeny delivers every time. The pizza was loaded with toppings and baked to perfection, and the garlic bread bites were buttery, crispy, and impossible to stop eating—especially with the marinara. It’s always great finding places that care about quality and do it right. Glad we’ve got a spot like this close to home!
